The winter group training sessions provide the perfect opportunity to work on a variety of skills within the game of golf utilising the Indoor Performance Centre at Carnoustie Golf Links.
Each session, led by a PGA Professional from our Golf Development Team, will cover a different topic and incorporate performance practice templates and skills tests. These sessions are flexible, allowing you to attend individual sessions without signing up for a multi-week block. The sessions will last 60 minutes and will cost £12.50 per person, with a maximum of 8 people attending per session. The sessions are appropriate for any level of golfer.

Our topic schedule for the sessions is shown below:
14th November – Control your wedges
Learn the impact factors and technique required to control the distances on your wedge shots from 100 yards and in and lower your scores! The session will contain explanation and demonstration of technique and the impact factors and practice drills to improve your technique and performance games to put your new skills to the test!
21st November – Optimise your driver
Learn the impact factors required to get the most out of your clubhead speed. Each golfer is required to deliver the golf club in a certain way to maximise the distance they can hit the ball and by changing factors at impact such as angle of attack, we can see great improvements in ball speed and launch angle to get you hitting straighter, longer drives!
28th November – Knockdown Shots – Controlling your ball in the wind
Learn how the wind effects the golf ball when playing in windy conditions and understand the changes to your technique and club selection to ensure you can still hit your ball the correct distance and lower your scores!
5th December – Shot Shaping
Learn how to draw and fade the ball and hit it high and low on demand in this session. Crucial in playing links golf successfully, you will learn the set-up adjustments and impact factors required to curve the ball both ways and vary the height of your shots.
12th December – Performance Practice
In this session, you will partake in some performance practice sessions designed to help you get the most out of your practice. Focused on different parts of the game, the performance games and tests will create a pressure environment and allow you measure your performance as the games are score based meaning you can attempt multiple times.
19th December – Ultimate Skill test
Designed to take the entirety of the session, this skills challenge will test all areas of your game from greenside back to the tee. Targets will vary in size and points will be awarded based proximity to the hole and accuracy stats from Tour level up to 20 handicap level meaning you can measure your performance and highlight areas for further improvement.
