Caddie Services

Carnoustie is world-renowned not only for its immaculately maintained three 18-hole golf courses but also as a bucket-list destination for golfers, complete with a Caddie service that lives up to its legendary status.

The majority of our Caddies grew up right here in Carnoustie and therefore have great understanding and experience of the courses they call home.

Carnoustie Caddies have a true, deep-founded love for the game of golf. Being a Caddie is not just a job, it’s a way of life. Every round, they are dedicated to ensuring that your experience at Carnoustie is not just memorable, but unforgettable.

Not only will our Caddies provide the support and guidance to aid you on your journey round the course, they will also provide you with fascinating historical insights and anecdotes from iconic events that have taken place on these hallowed Links.

The exceptional service delivered by Carnoustie Caddies can be traced back to the legacy of Caddie Master Martin Roy, who fostered a deep-rooted sense of service excellence within the team. His commitment to thorough training and support helped establish the esteemed reputation our Caddies enjoy today. After Martin’s untimely passing in 2015, his daughter Ailsa Roy stepped into his role, having worked with the team for over 25 years. Ailsa has upheld her father’s standards of excellence while embracing modern approaches to continuously elevate the Carnoustie Caddie experience.

Hear what some of our visitors have said about their Carnoustie Caddie:

“Every golf fan making the journey to Scotland has to play Carnoustie at least once. Take a caddie. Had one of the best Caddie’s in my two plus weeks in Ireland and Scotland. My Caddie’s knowledge of the course and history was second to none. The other three Caddie’s in our group had us laughing all the way around!” – Bobby Collier (Facebook)

“My Caddie at Carnoustie was fantastic. He shared great insights and stories about the course, as well as helping with tips on course management and reading the greens.” – 296JeffG (Tripadvisor)

“The Caddie was just awesome – I should have been carrying his bag! He is a skilled golfer at a 1handicap, provided great knowledge and history of the course. Within a few holes he knew my game and kept me on track and out of traps! The entire experience was amazing because of the people!” – Johnnygetyourgun (Tripadvisor)
