Carnoustie Golf Links hosted their Community Benefits Awards evening on Monday 16th October, where they donated more than £110,000 to local community groups and individuals.
This new round of donations, totalling £112,632 takes Carnoustie Golf Links Community Benefits Programme overall contributions to almost £400,000 since its inception in 2014.
Carnoustie Golf Links Community Benefits Programme was originally launched in 2014 and has donated almost £400k of cash into the local area during that time. Furthermore, as part of Carnoustie’s commitment to giving back to the community, it also provides tens of thousands of pounds worth of value in kind. The Links provide free coaching to almost 400 junior golfers every week, including their advanced and high-performance programmes, helping those who show budding skills to reach their full potential in the game. They also run the Girls.Lead.Golf Academy, designed to empower and equip girls with skills for life and work through the sport of golf. Furthermore, Carnoustie’s greenkeeping team provide, time, equipment and expertise to local community projects and Schools throughout the year and the Links have proudly donated to a number of town projects in the past, including contributing to the festive celebrations by providing the town Christmas Tree.
The Carnoustie Golf Links Community Benefits Committee seek applications from local groups and organisations within the Carnoustie and District area who are looking for assisted funding towards community projects.
