Carnoustie Golf Links are delighted to be working in partnership with Scottish Disability Sport and Dundee Dragons to offer wheelchair golf at Carnoustie.
Coaching sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7pm – 8pm for 10 weeks from Tuesday 23rd April to Tuesday 25th June and are open to wheelchair users aged 10 and over.
Led by Keir McNicoll, P.G.A. Senior Assistant Professional, participants will receive tuition on grip, swing and shot techniques whilst using the state of the art indoor golf simulators on offer in the Carnoustie Indoor Performance Centre at Links House and playing on Carnoustie’s five-hole course The Nestie.
Speaking of the sessions, Keir said: “We are committed to giving everyone in our community an opportunity to learn and love the game of golf. Our wheelchair golf program was piloted in 2018 through taster sessions with local club ‘The Dundee Dragons’ and through the support of these sessions we have taken the next step by offering a weekly coaching program.
“The facilities we have at Carnoustie Golf Links are excellent and the indoor performance centre is ideal for getting confident and comfortable with the techniques required before heading out to our redesigned development golf course – The Nestie.
“I’d like to thank local golfer Ian Woodcraft, who has been instrumental in getting this program started and we are excited to see it develop and grow this year.”
There is no cost for these sessions and golf equipment can be provided.
